What Is Your Best?
You know, I was sitting and thinking long and hard a few days ago about how to really bring the best out of someone. I was torn…going back and forth in my mind about a strategy or technique that could be used.
Do I just keep telling you, “You’re great?”
Do I fill you with motivational words like, “You can do anything you put your mind to?”
While all of these things are great, I was drawn back to one thought that drove me to the answer.
It was necessary for me to think about what my definition of “best” is. Of course, “best” is relative to each individual. My best might be completely different than your best; right?
So here’s what it all boils down to:
You are your absolute best every single day…without fail. Every single day that you live life, you give your best…that, I promise.
So you may be wondering…How can you be so sure of that?
Well, here’s why:
You see, I know that you give your best everyday because your best is based on whatever your attitude is. Your attitude will, without fail, dictate your daily performance. Are you feelin’ what I’m gettin’ at here.
If you walk around with a poor attitude, then you are going to only give the best that you can with that poor attitude. You can’t avoid it, you can only fight it.
If you walk around with an attitude of not caring, then you will only be able to give your best based on an attitude of not caring.
If you have a great attitude, then your best will be elevated to the status of a person with a great attitude.
You have to understand that your attitude determines what your best is going to be for that year, month, day, hour, minute or second. Your daily performance lines up parallel to your attitude.
Whether I’m training a client, talking to a family member or friend, eating at a restaurant or going to a football game, I realize that every single person that I come into contact with will give their best based on their attitude.
So, here are my questions for you – What’s your attitude like? How are you viewing things? Is the world against you? Are you happy that you woke up to live another day? Are you seeing the blessings that are right in front of your eyes? Are you just living or do you know your purpose?
What’s your attitude for today and is it that way everyday?
Until next time, STAY FIT!!!

I am impressed with your words today. Keep up the good work, and honestly- you brightened up my day. Thanks, I will share this my loved ones.
Excellent analysis and summary. To be honest, it made me really think about what we say to eachother, regardless of the setting. In this instance, to motivate, encourage, or instruct. Instead of just a catchy phrase, your summary delves into the true meaning of “Do your best.” Sure, if this phrase is handed out like candy, regardless of the situation, the potential is lost without a true discussion of it’s meaning. But with proper explanation and insight, one now has an opportunity to walk away enlightened, knowing that “Do your best.” is much more than just effort, but MENTAL ATTITUDE. Careful, that candy, just became a diamond! Fantastic my friend, thanks for the sharing.
