…and it always will.

Why?

Because if you do it, and do it right, you will continue to burn calories from that single workout for 24-48 hours after the workout is done. This means that you burn calories while sitting on your butt. It’s a beautiful thing.

Now, of course, you’re an active person so you’re not sitting around on your butt much; right?

So let’s say you did interval training for just 3 days out of the week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

You do a super intense workout on each of these days. Each workout will keep you burning calories for up to 48 hours. So from workout to workout you are steady burning calories which translates to burning fat. Beautiful thing; right.

I design workouts that produce this effect for my boot campers. They feel like they have truly had their butts handed to them when they get done but I think each one would tell you that they wouldn’t have it any other way.

We workout for 45 minutes. In that time frame we are able to get a warm-up done, main workout and a cool down very efficiently and if that’s all they wanted to do for the week they won’t ever gain another pound as long as they live (provided they control the diet portion).

So if your doing long slow cardio and wondering why you can’t get those last pounds off, try interval training for one month and feel the difference. You won’t regret it – in fact, you’ll fall in love and save time doing it.

Of course, you have to keep in mind that “your diet” makes up your composition so…don’t do lots of hard effective training and forget about the diet…you’ll be hitting your head against the wall and that hurts after a while.

If you are in the Hutto, Taylor, Georgetown, Round Rock, Pflugerville or Austin area and your looking for a fitness camp that will provide you with the fat burning tools that were just discussed then you owe it to yourself to take me up on a free test drive. Leave me a comment saying “I want to try it” along with your email address and I will get in contact with you and set you up for the next class.

Until next time…Thanks for reading!

Personally, I think they’re great if they would just stay where they belong.

What do I mean?

Let’s begin…well, at the beginning.

In your “younger” years you were either in pretty good shape or you weren’t. Either way, as you aged a little you came to a point when you decide…”Gross, I don’t look like I used to” or “That’s it, it’s time to do something about this out of shape body.”

So you finally make that dreaded call to your local gym to join as a member, or you call to hire a personal trainer, join a fitness camp or maybe you start a disciplined workout routine by yourself or with a friend.

Now you’re on the right track.

You’re going to get that body that you think about all day every day.

You’re working out religiously now. You’re eating 5-6 small nutritious meals a day. Drinking at least 96 ounces of water and now your energy is through the roof.

Lean muscle (you’re new best friend) begins to take over and reshape your body while elevating you’re metabolism and burning unwanted fat. Shopping for new clothes becomes a necessity because your losing inches.

Situations in your life don’t seem to be as difficult because you now have an overall greater well-being. Your outlook is positive. Your excuses start to go away. Your smile becomes brimming with confidence. You can do anything.

You have been going at it for 6 months and you’re about to take it to a new level, when suddenly…a situation comes that somehow gets your attention to the point of missing a couple of your workouts.

A couple of workouts turns into a week, then 2 weeks, then a month and then…I think you know where I’m going with this.

Now, before you can even imagine…confidence is gone…inches are back…muscle is lost…you’re eating 1-2 unhealthy meals a day…water has turned to soda…and you’ve put on more weight in 2 months than you lost in 6.

Then the roller coaster starts again…

Why do we continue to let fitness and health be the first thing to leave our routine and be put on the back burner when the smallest, or biggest, situations come into our lives? Why?

Clearly, if you’re going to choose to be selfish about one thing in your life, your health should be that thing; right?

It’s too easy to make excuses. It’s to easy to think of a reason why you can’t. It’s to easy and everyone knows when you’re doing it. This is all part of the roller coaster.

You remember how good you started to look and feel when you were on your routine. The positive outlook that you had wasn’t by accident. This was the top of the roller coaster where you were seeing things from a different perspective.

You know your health is important to you because you think about it everyday. You know that you want to look and feel better because you notice when others feel that way…but you continue to just wish.

I’m here to tell you…you don’t have to wish anymore.

Make the decision that you are going to do whatever it takes to live the fit and healthy life that you deserve. Quit letting the world dictate your level of dedication. Get consistent and stay consistent. Take massive action. Results will happen!

Roller coasters are made for the amusement parks…not you’re soul.

Until next time…STAY FIT!

You know, I was sitting and thinking long and hard a few days ago about how to really bring the best out of someone. I was torn…going back and forth in my mind about a strategy or technique that could be used.

Do I just keep telling you, “You’re great?”
Do I fill you with motivational words like, “You can do anything you put your mind to?”

While all of these things are great, I was drawn back to one thought that drove me to the answer.

It was necessary for me to think about what my definition of “best” is. Of course, “best” is relative to each individual. My best might be completely different than your best; right?

So here’s what it all boils down to:

You are your absolute best every single day…without fail. Every single day that you live life, you give your best…that, I promise.

So you may be wondering…How can you be so sure of that?

Well, here’s why:

You see, I know that you give your best everyday because your best is based on whatever your attitude is. Your attitude will, without fail, dictate your daily performance. Are you feelin’ what I’m gettin’ at here.

If you walk around with a poor attitude, then you are going to only give the best that you can with that poor attitude. You can’t avoid it, you can only fight it.

If you walk around with an attitude of not caring, then you will only be able to give your best based on an attitude of not caring.

If you have a great attitude, then your best will be elevated to the status of a person with a great attitude.

You have to understand that your attitude determines what your best is going to be for that year, month, day, hour, minute or second. Your daily performance lines up parallel to your attitude.

Whether I’m training a client, talking to a family member or friend, eating at a restaurant or going to a football game, I realize that every single person that I come into contact with will give their best based on their attitude.

So, here are my questions for you – What’s your attitude like? How are you viewing things? Is the world against you? Are you happy that you woke up to live another day? Are you seeing the blessings that are right in front of your eyes? Are you just living or do you know your purpose?

What’s your attitude for today and is it that way everyday?

Until next time, STAY FIT!!!
